リエゾン

リエゾンとは？

英語のリスニングやスピーキングの上達に最も重要な要素が、このリエゾンです。リエゾンとは、単語と単語がつながって発音されてしまう現象のことを指します。いわば、ドミノ倒しのような現象です。日本語は基本的にリエゾンの現象が発音上ないため、単語同士が繋がってしまうことに、私たちは全く慣れていません。それが最大の原因として、リスニングやスピーキングの障害となっています。このリエゾンを、様々なパターンで体系的に習得していかない限り、英語は絶対に上達しません。一生カタカナ英語のままで終わってしまいます。

様々なリエゾンのパターン

リエゾンには約20種類のパターンがあります。ここでは代表的な例を挙げます。実際のレッスンでは、もっと沢山のパターンを学びます。

1. 語尾が子音＋語頭が母音

子音と母音を完全に繋ぐ！

I'm on a diet.
I was on a cleanse.
I've been on a strict budget.
Beverly Hills 90210
It's a walk in the park.
I'm stuck in the train.
I want my name on it.

2. 語尾が子音＋語頭も子音

前の子音はほとんど消える！

I've been busy lately.
See you at the station.
All right.
I have it just the way I want it.

3. 語尾がN＋語頭が母音

これが日本人最大の弱点！

Everyone is here.
Hit the one in the middle.
I'll take the one on the left.
He's smarter than anyone I know.
I'll join the one at 9.
She loves me more than anyone else in the world.

4. 語尾が t/d/s/z＋語頭が y

ちゃ、ぢゃ、しゃ、じゃ

Eat your dinner.
I bought you some food.
Did you do it yourself?
I followed you.
Did you find your phone?
Is this your idea of a good time?
Bless you.
Does your mom know about tomorrow night?
It was your idea!
He knows what you did last summer.

5. 小さく弱い単語のリエゾン

前置詞、代名詞、接続詞ではよくリエゾンします

Get out of here.
He died at the end of the movie.
I love you from the bottom of my heart.
